Today is Thanksgiving, and since SmartBear’s HQ is located in the state where it all began, we thought it would be appropriate to name just a few things that we’re all thankful for.
First, we’re thankful for Twinkies! Sadly, these little cream-filled delights have been put on the snack food endangered list after Hostess was forced to file for bankruptcy. However, after a week of dealing with this horrible news, we’re thankful to hear that there’s at least a glimmer of hope that these indestructible cakes. This staple form of nourishment for developers everywhere may still be available on the shelves of our local grocery stores for years to come.
Another fuel necessary for those late night sprints, coffee was also placed on the endangered list recently, with an extinction date set sometime around 2080. While other sources have disputed this idea, at least we have 70 years to prepare for this catastrophe. Now, if we could only get some good news about the upcoming bacon shortage, we’d have all of the necessary food groups covered.
Google’s Calendar Error
In case you haven’t heard, Google recently made a little blunder when they forgot to include the month of December on the calendars of their Android Jelly Bean 4.2 OS. We’ll admit, we are a little upset that Google won’t let us celebrate the holidays this year. However, we’re very thankful that they’re also excluding Dec. 21, 2012 – the date the Mayans prophesized that the world would end. So, from the bottom of our hearts, we’d like to thank Google for once again saving the planet from impending doom.
And, of course, last but not least, we are thankful for the one million people that are using SmartBear products to improve the quality of software (and life) all around the globe. Thank you all and have a happy Thanksgiving!
