It might be self-evident that since Smart Bear sells a code review tool that we would be believers in the value of doing peer code review. But do we believe in it enough to advocate it even if it does not involve using our product?

Andrei Contan, owner of QAHeaven.com recently posted his personal opinion and comparison of QTP 9.5 vs. TestComplete 7. Andrei notes that TestComplete is "User-friendly" and has "accessible information to have this comparison done", while QTP 9.5 was "A big NO". In his opinion, TestComplete is easy to learn but QTP is "Medium difficulty" and TestComplete is "worth every penny" while QTP - "Can wait. Use it only if QC & LoadRunner are a must-have inside your company". He also highlights TestComplete's integration with Visual Studio, custom control support and integration with source control systems.

In my previous post I wrote about using the WaitProperty method in test scripts to pause the test execution until an object’s property has a certain value. In this post I will explain how to do this in keyword-driven tests.

Iâve been thinking about the cloud a lot lately, and what it really means. Different vendors come up with different definitions that promote their own services. My take is that the cloud is really just advanced hosting services that come with a set of many potential benefits and opportunities, but also some challenges and shortcomings as well. For example, the cloud offers limitless scalability and unrivaled availability for most applications supported by the total virtualization of a large, well-managed and scalable infrastructure.
Iâm coming up on my tenth year in the Web performance monitoring industry, and in that time, there is one thing Iâve heard rather consistently: âMy hosting company monitors my site.â
Can I just say that ProductCampAustinSummer2009 rocked?! Austin hosted its third ProductCamp last Saturday (August 15, 2009), and what an amazing event it was!
Quite often you may want your automated test to wait until an object’s property gets a certain value. To implement this behavior novice users typically use loops. Here is a typical sample:

We're proud of the support our code review tool provides for so many different version control systems - 14 and growing - the list is here. It takes more, however, than just breadth. The depth of the integrations we provide is also important. And while we don't have the same depth of integration across all 14, we aim to provide support for the most common features in each.
AutomatedQA is happy to introduce a new technical paper Automated Unit Testing of Flash Applications. It describes how to use TestComplete to create and automate unit tests for Flash applications. The unit testing approach is based on the ExternalInterface class, which exposes internal methods of Flash applications to TestComplete. And with TestComplete, you are not restricted to only ActionScript for unit tests you can choose any language supported by TestComplete, like, JScript or VBScript. Add this technique to your armory for testing Flash applications and increase your testing coverage. We hope you find it helpful and enjoy reading it!
Tom DeMarco recently published an article called Software Engineering: An Idea Whose Time Has Come and Gone? (pdf). It caused Jeff Atwood's head to explode.
