Automated Build Studio supports TestComplete and TestExecute and allows you to use their functionality in macros. This feature lets you create macros that automate not only the software build, but also the test process. For example, you can create a macro that compiles the project and then runs tests on the compiled application.

Automated Build Studio version 6 supports all the versions of the TestComplete and TestExecute products, including the upcoming version 8. It provides you with new abilities of managing and automating test processes in your software development projects.

Build Studio 6 includes two new operations - TestComplete 8 and TestExecute 8 – which execute test projects created with TestComplete 8:

TestComplete 8 and TestExecute 8 Operations

In the Operation Properties dialog you specify the project suite that contains the desired tests and select the project, test item or script routine to be run:

The new TestComplete 8 and TestExecute 8 operations can export log messages generated by TestComplete or TestExecute during the test run. Using the operation properties you can select what types of test log messages to be exported and choose the destination point of the export: a macro variable, file or the Automated Build Studio macro log:

The following image shows the TestComplete log messages posted to the Automated Build Studio log:

The new version of Automated Build Studio includes a lot of other improvements you may want to use to automate your build, test and release process. If you are interested in them, download a trial version of Automated Build Studio for free.
